The Path To Heaven In 5 Easy Steps
 /salv02-many-books.png
 1. The Bible is the Word of God.

The following message comes from God's Word, The Bible. No other book makes that claim about itself. The Koran, book of Mormon, or any other religious book doesn't claim to be God's own words, but the Bible does. Therefore it gives a clear message on how to go to heaven and be with God forever.

Read the following verses from the Bible about the Bible:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16)

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:21)

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

2. It is helpful to know that God created us.

We are not accidents of evolution or any other contrived explanation. The reason for our being here is that God created us for His glory and pleasure. The following verses tell us about our creation:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27)

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
(Isaiah 45:18)

3. Man has sinned against God.

All of us have rebeled against God. We reject His authority and dominion over our lives. We have corrupted ourselves by trampling on His commandments. We deserve to die and be sent to hell.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
(Romans 3:23)

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
(Romans 3:10-18)

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
(2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)

4. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.

Despite the fact we reject God and go our own way, God loves us and provided a way for us to be reconciled back to Him. He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. He lived a perfect life and provided a perfect sacrifice for our sins when He was crucified on the cross. Jesus took the punishment for our sins.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1 Peter 3:18)

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (1 Corinthians 15:3)

5. You must personally believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and put your faith in trust in Him.

This provision for sin has not been given automatically without the person's permission! You must believe what God has done and put your faith in Jesus Christ, then God will save you and send the Holy Spirit into your life. If you really believe, you won't become perfect but you "will" begin a new life and the desires of your heart will begin to change.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

Now What?
/salv09-read-bible.png
If you've read the above message and have placed your faith and trust in the finished work of the cross of Jesus Christ, then praise God! You have become "born again" (John 3:3). You have started a brand new life! This is an eternal life and you won't be condemned with those who don't believe and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Don't be fooled into thinking that just because you say you believe the message or you came forward to receive Christ at church or religious rally that this is the end of the matter. You've started a new life and now it’s time to learn how to "live" that new life.

What Should you "Do?"

Some people had listened to Peter share the Gospel in the Bible. They were convinced of his message and wanted to know what they should do now that they believed what he said. Here is what happened and what Peter said to them:

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:37-38)

The first "things" you should do as a new Christian is repent of your sins and be baptized.  In order to "repent" you must find out which things you do in your life which are sinful towards God and "turn away" from them.  Some areas will be easy, others not so easy.  That's okay, growing as a Christian is a process, not instant perfection.  Find a church which accepts the "above" message, not all of them do.

If they agree, then ask them to baptize you.  Start reading the Bible yourself and ask your "fellow" believers questions.  Learn how to pray, study the Bible, and apply what you learn to your life.  This may sound like a lot, but you are starting a new life.  As you discover the "truth" from God's Word and experience it first hand, you'll want to tell others!
